Job DescriptionAs the Health, Safety & Environment Manager, you will act as the strategic architect for Youfoodz''s safety infrastructure, designing and embedding a world class Safety Management System that operates seamlessly across the employee and production lifecycle. Beyond compliance, this role is a critical leadership partner, responsible for coaching operational leaders to own safety outcomes.The Health, Safety & Environment Lead role is based in our Youfoodz site at Karawatha, Brisbane and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.You WillAct as a trusted advisor to the Senior Leadership Team focusing on coaching leaders in effective safety leadershipEmbed shared accountability, transitioning safety ownership from the HS&E department to the operational line.Lead the cultural shift from "reactive compliance" to "interdependent safety" by designing initiatives that foster psychological safety.Shift reporting focus from lagging indicators to leading indicators (hazard observations, safety interactions) to predict and prevent incidents.Oversee incident management using systemic investigation methodologies (e.g., ICAM or 5 Whys) to identify system failures.Manage WorkCover claims and Return to Work (RTW) programs with a focus on early intervention and genuine care.Develop a competency-based training matrix that verifies skills for high-risk activities.Develop and own the Environmental Management Plan, driving specific initiatives around waste reduction and energy efficiency.You HaveMinimum 8+ years of experience in senior safety leadership roles.Proven experience within the Manufacturing or FMCG sectors is essential (Food Manufacturing experience is highly advantageous).Tertiary qualifications in Work Health & Safety (WH&S), Environmental Science, or a related discipline.Extensive and up-to-date knowledge of HS&E legislation, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and industry best practices.A demonstrated track record of designing and deploying company-wide strategic initiatives that successfully improved safety performance and environmental compliance.Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex safety data into clear, actionable business insights.You AreAn outstanding leader with the ability to influence operational leaders and drive cultural change without direct authority.Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret metrics, identify systemic root causes, and implement solutions quickly and efficiently.Approachable, energetic, and a visible leader capable of connecting with floor staff as effectively as with the Board.Resilient and capable of managing high-pressure situations (e.g., critical incidents) with composure.What you''ll get in returnThe chance to have a significant impact in a leading global food technology company.Flexible working arrangements.Egoless environment, constant learning with room for personal growth.Free access to Headspace.HelloFresh Academies - internal learning & development.A diverse and vibrant international environment, with offices in 18 countries.Company discount - 70% off HelloFresh & 40% off Youfoodz.Onsite gym at the facility.Start Date: Immediately available - Can wait a notice periodDuration: Permanent full time role.
