Position DetailsFull-Time | ContinuingAcademic Level D | $165,810 - $182,419 p.a.Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna CountryView Position Description Teaching Specialist (Academic)View Position Description Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner)About the RoleWe are seeking either an Associate Professor Teaching Specialist (Academic), or Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner), who will be a senior member of academic staff within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.The Associate Professor will deliver engaging, high-quality teaching in Nursing across all levels and modes, using approaches that enrich the student experience. The incumbent will contribute to topic planning and evaluation and may serve as Topic or Course Coordinator.A key focus is leading curriculum review, renewal and design to ensure courses remain innovative, industry-relevant and appealing to diverse cohorts, fostering creativity and critical thinking.The role also involves integrating new technologies and contemporary innovations into teaching practice, while offering educational leadership and sharing best practice to promote excellence in learning and teaching.Additionally, the Associate Professor Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner), will also be expected to concurrently engage in practice in a clinical or community setting to support maintenance of contemporary practice, knowledge and skills. The incumbent will be expected to draw upon their significant and senior roles in clinical practice to develop industry partnerships for work integrated learning, deliver innovative placement models. The incumbent will provide contemporary and high-quality placement education, both through clinical skills training, simulation and service provision.Please refer to the attached position descriptions, for a comprehensive list of roles and responsibilities.About YouThe Associate Professor Teaching Specialist (Academic) or Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner) will be an experienced educator who is currently registered, or eligible for registration, with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia/AHPRA, and who maintains membership with a relevant professional association.You will demonstrate strong knowledge of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice within the discipline.You will bring a proven record of excellence in tertiary-level teaching, including contributions within professional settings. The role also requires significant leadership experience in developing, delivering, and evaluating innovative learning and teaching initiatives across disciplines, encompassing both classroom environments and professional education contexts. You possess strong expertise in modern teaching methodologies, with proven ability to design and deliver flexible, technology-enhanced learning via e-learning platforms and digital communication tools.You will have excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally.The Teaching Specialist (Academic) will have also completed a PhD and/or have qualifications in Nursing.Additionally, the Teaching Specialist (Clinical Practitioner), will hold a Doctorate in a relevant discipline or equivalent clinical experience and professional standing in Nursing.
