The MSL will collaborate with physicians, other medical experts and their extended cross-functional team members to support trial enrollment, provide related program and protocol training and ensure that health care professionals have the most up to date information as the clinical development programs mature. This role will be focused on the ocular oncology franchise,with a small percentage of time dedicated to the bladder cancer programs.Location: Australia (Sydney or Melbourne, preferred) / New Zealand (Auckland, preferred)Key Responsibilities Include:Develop and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts in the ocular oncology community as well as their extended team members.Support clinical development initiatives including site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and protocol and program trainingServe as scientific peer-to-peer resource to external disease experts and internal stakeholdersCommunicate clinical insights internally to inform medical strategyDevelop an understanding of the treatment landscapeCollaborate with physicians on medical affairs initiatives including publications, advisory boards, medical education opportunities, training, and speaker developmentMaintain effective and appropriate communication among internal stakeholders while maintaining full compliance with relevant requirementsGenerate tactical regional plans to provide needs based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goalsUses systems to strategically map, identify, profile and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and goalsMaintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activitiesEducation, Registration & CertificationAdvanced scientific or clinical degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, NP, PA), strongly preferred, or equivalentExperienceMinimum of 3 - 5 years of field-based MSL experienceRobust and current clinical development experience supporting drugs to treat rare diseases; prior ophthalmology or oncology experience preferredCandidate must have an understanding of compliance considerations and demonstrate ability to work compliantly in a field-based role, within the medical organizationSkills, Knowledge & AbilitiesExcellent oral and written communication skillsEnergetically embraces responsibilities, demonstrates ability to achieve goalsHas strong initiative, and functions well as part of a cross-functional teamExhibits excellent time managementDemonstrated ability to work independentlyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience in a small biotech environment preferredMust be pro-active team player, flexible, and ability to work in ambiguous situationsOtherOffice is home based (must reside in territory)Travel up to80%.Required travel to medical meetings, team meetings, and other group meetings (will require some weekends)
