Working closely with our research teams, theyprovide strategic and operational financial support with budgets, planning andanalysis, enabling us to achieve our mission - to improve the health andwellbeing of children through excellence in research.We arecurrently looking for a Project Accountant to join our passionate and customerfocused Research Finance team, and partner with our researchers tomeet all their financial needs. Working with a teamof dedicated professionals, you will be mentored to develop skills in building& managing key relationships, best practice financial processes, and theprovision of financial advice in a research environment. No two days will be the same in this varied role but typically yourday-to-day tasks will include:Ensure new project cost centres are set up, and completed projects are closed and acquitted within funder timeframes.Regularly meeting with researchers to review projects and ensure they are tracking correctly against budget, and that system data accurately reflects progress to date.Preparation of journals for internal transfers of expenditure and service charges between projects, to ensure financial records are kept up to date.Ensuring project compliance with financial requirements of funding arrangements, organisational policies, and industry regulations.Upskilling and educating researchers in best practice financial management.Based atPerth Children''s Hospital in Nedlands, this full-time role will be offered onan ongoing basis. About YouThe ideal applicant will have a tertiaryqualification in accounting, finance, or another relevant discipline. The keyto your success will be your demonstrated experience in cultivating meaningfulrelationships based on trust, along with:Experience in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Strong analytical skills, and a high level of attention to detail, including accurate data entry skills.Experience at working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholders and maintain them over time.At The Kids Research InstituteAustralia, we are committed to building a workplace culture thatreflectsthe communities we serve.
