We''re looking for someone who thrives in a team and brings a positive energy to our bakery, kitchen, and pastry sections.Responsibilities:Planning, preparing and baking a broad range of artisan Viennoiserie and pastries, including sourdough Croissants, Danishes, Cakes, Pies, Quiches, Tarts, cookies and biscuits.Applying long fermentation and French artisan techniques to all baked and cooked products.Weighing, mixing, kneading, moulding, rolling, and shaping doughs for Pastry, both sweet and savoury applications.Preparing sauces, creams, glazes, fillings, compotes, and purees using traditional methods and FinTech equipment.Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked ingredients and finished items to meet Burleigh Baker''s high nutritional and taste standards.Operating and maintaining a variety of commercial pastry equipment such as ovens, dough sheeters, mixers, slicing, shaping tools and bench tools.Managing stock levels by estimating food and ingredient requirements and ordering accordingly.Ensuring hygiene, food safety, and workplace health regulations are strictly followed in all the pastry area area.Supervising or mentoring junior pastry and bakery staff when needed and contributing positively to the team culture.Collaborating with the R&D and production teams to trial, improve and document recipes, and develop innovative products that support gut health.Requirements:Proven experience as a Pastry Cook, ideally with a focus on French artisan techniques and long fermentation.Deep knowledge of natural ingredients, whole foods, and nutrition.Strong attention to detail and dedication to excellence.Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a great attitude.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Permanent work rights in Australia.Availability to work one day of the weekend.Why Join Us?Passion for Excellence: Be part of a team that takes pride in producing top-quality, nutritious, artisan food.Creative Freedom: Use your expertise to develop new and exciting products.Supportive Culture: Work in a friendly, community-focused environment where your contribution matters.Competitive Salary: $76,515Job Types: Full-time, PermanentPay: $76,515.00 per yearBenefits:Employee discountWork Location: In person
