The role delivers independent, commercially focused legal advice to support strategic initiatives, operational delivery and risk management across the Group. Job DescriptionProvide clear, pragmatic legal advice to management and senior executives on legal aspects of their areas of responsibility, supporting the ongoing success of the organisation.Use legalexpertiseto drive growth and manage risk throughtimely,accurateand practical legal advice that enables informed decision making.Support the design, development and governance of AI-enabled tools,modelsand processes, including advising on legal, regulatory, contractual, privacy and ethical requirements.Draft,reviewand negotiate a wide range of contracts and commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution,technologyand service arrangements.Provideindependent legal advice on a range of matters, including:National Consumer Credit Protection ActAnti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing ActReal estate licensing obligationsAustralian Competition and Consumer LawGeneral corporate and banking lawFranchising law and the Franchising Code of ConductEmployment lawIntellectual property lawPartner with business units to support new projects, incidents, business initiatives, acquisitions, regulatory change and improvements to systems and products.Assistin managing and strengthening relationships with key regulators, governmentagenciesand industry bodies, including ACCC, ASIC,AFCAand MFAA.Contribute to the development, improvement and documentation of the legal function''s processes,templatesand tools to maximise efficiency and business support.Provide legal support and guidance in relation to customer complaints, including complex or escalated matters.Support adherence to company policies, riskappetiteand all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, including the NCCP regime.Promote and ensureappropriate managementof customer information in line with privacy,confidentialityand other regulatory requirements.Manage and instruct external counsel, including scope and budget, with a focus on reducing external legal spend and improving service levels and quality of advice.
