We''re a small business based in Lane Cove dedicated to providing high quality personalised pet care. I''m looking for an individual passionate about the outdoors, dogs and pet care to join my team as a professional dog walker.It''s a casual/part time role 1-2 days/week starting 8am - 4pm (times vary). There is also the potential for additional days in the future + house sitting and visits. Most days we run four walks, pickup starting at 8am for the first walk and final drop ending around 4pm. There is also some flexibility around hours and days available and whether you''d like to work a full or half day. Though, it is preferred you do the same days each week so you work with the same dogs. The ideal candidate is hoping to to stay in the position for at least 1 year+.The role involves walking a group of 4 dogs off-leash at a time at a local dog park or beach. You''ll need to be comfortable walking dogs of all sizes from pugs to standard poodles and you must be fit, energetic and injury free.You''ll be driving dogs to and from their homes in Lane Cove so it''s important that you''re a confident driver as you spend up a significant portion of the day picking up and dropping off dogs. A car will be provided for you, however, if you have your own that would be suitable for dog transportation that would be preferred and a vehicle allowance will be provided. You''ll also need a police check and references.This role would suit a friendly, reliable, dog lover who enjoys taking initiative and working independently. Experience working with animals or as a dog walker is strongly preferred, but, extensive training will be provided.Your Responsibilities:Provide group (4 dogs) and individual dog walking and field daycare services at Lane Cove based dog parks/beachesPick up and drop off dogs from their homes in Lane Cove and surrounding suburbs and secure dogs safely in the vehicle and not being easily distracted by their behaviour or noise whilst drivingGive each dog love and attention and always ensure safe handling and care of the dogs and public at all times.Communicate any concerns or noticed changes in pet behaviourReinforces basic obedience training such as recall, stay etc. using force free methods and positive reinforcement.Have the confidence to comfortably initiate conversation with dog owners on location to develop new business opportunities and raise brand awarenessTake photos and video clips during the walk and send a brief update to clients after each walkWork in a variety of weather conditions, we operate rain or shine.Your Requirements:Have a genuine love of dogs, and dogs love youA clean driving record as lots of driving is requiredPolice check and referencesFit, energetic, active and injury freeBe comfortable around all types of dogs, big and smallExcellent customer service/verbal communication skillsAccess to your own phoneIf this sounds like the Purrfect fit for you please send a cover letter through explaining why you think you''re a good fit for the role and highlighting any experience with animals you have as well as your resume.Job Type: CasualPay: $28.00 $30.00 per hourApplication Question(s):What is your least favourite breed of dog?Do you have previous experience working with dogs?Will you be able to reliably commute to Lane Cove, NSW for this job?Licence/Certification:Drivers Licence (Preferred)Work Authorisation:Australia (Preferred)Work Location: In person
