Role OverviewThe Salon Coordinator supports the smooth day-to-day running of the salon by overseeing client service, salon flow, presentation, and reception support.This role is operational and client-focused. It is not a management or HR position.On-Site ResponsibilitiesWhen rostered in the salon, the Salon Coordinator is responsible for overall client experience and salon coordination.This includes:Client service & flowGreeting clients on arrival and ensuring they feel welcomed and looked afterBeing the point person for client experience during the shiftStepping in to assist if a service is running behind or a client issue arisesHelping staff when needed to keep services running smoothlyMaking real-time decisions around late clients, small reschedules, and salon flowSalon presentationKeeping an eye on overall salon tidiness and presentationAllocating short cleaning or reset tasks to staff during gapsEnsuring treatment areas and shared spaces remain client-readyStock & operationsMonitoring general stock levelsFlagging low or missing items to the ownerEnsuring stations and rooms are appropriately stocked for the dayAll non-operational, sensitive, or strategic matters are to be escalated to the owner.Remote Reception ResponsibilitiesWhen working remotely, the Salon Coordinator provides structured reception support.This includes:Answering incoming callsResponding to client messagesBooking, rescheduling, and managing appointmentsManaging the waitlist and filling gaps where possibleEscalating issues outside scope to the ownerReception work is intermittent and reactive, not continuous.Experience & Skills RequiredTo be suitable for the Salon Coordinator role, the candidate must have:Essential ExperienceMinimum 3+ years experience working in a professional lash and/or beauty salonStrong understanding of day-to-day salon operations, including bookings, timing, and client flowProven experience working independently and responsibly without direct supervisionConfident handling of client questions, concerns, and minor issues in a calm, professional mannerExperience with booking systems (e.g. Fresha or similar) and managing appointmentsStrong awareness of hygiene, presentation, and salon standardsDesirable ExperiencePrevious experience in a senior therapist, coordinator, or similar support roleExperience answering phones and managing reception alongside treatment workAbility to prioritise tasks and stay organised in a busy environmentBasic awareness of stock usage and replenishment in a salon settingPersonal AttributesCalm, practical, and solutions-focusedReliable and consistentComfortable making small operational decisionsProfessional communication style with both clients and teamUnderstands boundaries and scope, knows when to escalate mattersNot RequiredManagement or HR experienceStaff performance managementRostering or payroll responsibilitiesJob Type: CasualPay: $36.00 $40.00 per hourExpected hours: 20 30 per weekWork Location: Hybrid remote in Labrador QLD 4215
