You will walk alongside participants as they navigate distress, rebuild safety, strengthen social connections, and link with supports that promote long-term wellbeing. Your practice will help shape a service that places humanity, choice, and understanding at its centreensuring that people feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported during some of their most vulnerable moments.About the RoleAs the Lived Experience Peer Support Coordinator, you will:Provide Individualised, non-clinical psychosocial peer support to participants after a suicide crisis.Model and deliver Person Driven, trauma-aware, recovery-oriented practice grounded in your lived expertise.Support people to identify personal goals, strengthen coping strategies, and build meaningful support networks.Work collaboratively with clinical and community services to ensure seamless care pathways.Engage in co-reflection, Lived Experience supervision, and Communities of Practice.Contribute to a positive, inclusive, collaborative team culture that values diverse experiences and perspectives.Maintain accurate client records and participate in reporting, evaluation, and continuous improvement activities.What You BringCertificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent experience) and at least 2 years in paid peer practice.A strong understanding of intentional peer support, Lived Experience frameworks, and recovery-oriented practice.Insight into the personal, systemic, and social factors that intersect with suicidal distress.Ability to build compassionate, empowering relationships with people experiencing significant distress.Experience working with diverse communities and groups at higher risk of suicide.Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work collaboratively with families, carers, hospitals, GPs, and community services.Competence in administrative and computer-based tasks.Mandatory Requirements:Blue Card & Yellow Card (or ability to obtain), National Police Check, and an open QLD Driver Licence.Why Join Communify?At Communify, we are committed to empowering people across all stages of life.
