In this role, you will provide practical, emotional, and advocacy support to individuals, helping them build resilience, develop life skills, and achieve their personal goals.You will work within a trauma-informed, person-centred framework, ensuring every individual feels heard, respected, and empowered on their journey to recovery and independence.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide compassionate, trauma-informed support to individuals experiencing mental health challengesBuild strong, trusting relationships through empathy, consistency, and active listeningAssist individuals with emotional regulation, coping strategies, and developing resilienceSupport daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, transport, and community accessEmpower clients to build life skills, independence, and engage in meaningful activitiesAdvocate for the rights, safety, and needs of clients, ensuring their voices are heardRespond calmly and safely to crisis situations, applying de-escalation and risk management techniquesCollaborate with families, guardians, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic, coordinated careMaintain accurate documentation, case notes, and incident reports in line with organisational policiesParticipate in team meetings, reflective practice, and ongoing training to enhance professional skillsUphold Dignified Caring''s values, policies, and safeguarding responsibilitiesAbout YouEssential:Experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges, neurodivergence, or complex needsStrong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skillsAbility to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situationsUnderstanding of trauma-informed, person-centred care practicesCurrent Working with Children Check (WWCC)Current First Aid and CPR certificationValid Driver''s Licence and access to reliable transportCommitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and duty of care principlesDesirable:Certificate IV or higher in Mental Health, Community Services, Youth Work, or a related fieldUnderstanding of Public Guardian processes, NDIS, and mental health care systemsWhat We OfferA supportive and inclusive team cultureOpportunities for professional development and trainingFlexible working arrangementsA chance to make a real difference in people''s livesJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, CasualPay: $25.10 $53.32 per hourWork Authorisation:Australia (Required)Work Location: In person
