Music Tutor (Certificate II in Music)OverviewThe Australian Academy of Media is a specialist Registered Training Organisation (RTO ID #45017) regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).We are seeking a passionate and musically skilled tutor to deliver engaging training as part of the Certificate II in Music (CUA20620) qualification. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with young people and has experience across performance, songwriting, digital music, or live production. Please note, playing an instrument is a mustYou will support studentsprimarily high school-aged and school leaversdevelop their creative expression, practical music skills, and confidence. A background in contemporary music, composition, or sound production is highly valued.ResponsibilitiesDeliver curriculum in an accessible and engaging way to students from diverse backgrounds and learning abilitiesTeach foundational skills in music performance, basic theory, songwriting, live sound, and/or digital music production using tools such as Soundtrap, BandLab, or GarageBandFacilitate hands-on group activities, rehearsals, and solo practice in a safe and inclusive environmentOffer students individual feedback and guidance on their musical development and project workSupport students in preparing for performances, showcases, or assessment recordingsMaintain accurate attendance, records, and assessment documentation in line with RTO requirementsStay current with industry practices and youth music trends to keep learning fresh and relevantQualificationsMusical background in performance, songwriting, or sound production (formal qualifications are welcome but not essential)Must play an instrument proficientlyCertificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) is highly regarded or willingness to obtainExperience in teaching or mentoring young people, particularly in creative learning environmentsComfortable using basic music technology and recording software (e.g., Soundtrap, Logic, GarageBand, or Ableton Live)Strong communication, interpersonal, and time-management skillsPatience, adaptability, and a heart for empowering young creativesAdditional RequirementsNSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)Own vehicle and driver''s licenceWe''re passionate about building a learning space where students of all abilities feel confident, encouraged, and capable.
