We act with integrity, by behaving ethically and professionally.We are committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace by providing ongoing support and opportunities for all staff.About the roleAs Manager, Audit and Risk at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP), you will take on a pivotal leadership role to manage and deliver the ODPP''s internal audit and risk management functions. This role also assumes responsibility as the ODPP''s Chief Audit Executive in accordance with NSW TPP 20-08 guidance.In this hands-on position, you will lead a small team of two while overseeing the delivery and management of ODPP''s internal audit and risk management functions.You will also provide independent and objective assurance to the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC) and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) on the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management practices, and governance frameworks, ensuring integrity, accountability, and compliance in support of the organisation''s strategic objectives.Key accountabilities:Lead the planning and execution of risk-based internal audit activities in alignment with regulatory requirements and the strategic objectives of the ODPP.Ensure the ARC Charter and the Internal Audit Charter are aligned with NSW Treasury guidelines and public sector best practices.Provide strategic leadership in the development and implementation of the ODPP''s risk management framework and policy.Advise on the adequacy and effectiveness of the Risk Management Framework, Legislative Compliance Framework, and related policies and processes, ensuring alignment with relevant legislation and sector standards.Support the ARC with the co-ordination of meetings, reviewing minutes and following-up actions from the meetings.Prepare and present reports to the ARC on the status and progress of the internal audit plan, implementation of audit recommendations, and key updates in risk management.Lead, manage and provide guidance and direction to staff to support and deliver the ODPP''s internal audit and risk management mandate.About youAppropriate tertiary qualifications and/or in depth understanding and experience of managing and advising on risk management principles.Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. Chartered Accountants ANZ or equivalent, Institute of Internal Auditors, CPA Australia, Risk Management Institute of Australasia).The ability to maintain high level understanding of audit and risk management requirements as set out in relevant legislation, professional standards, and NSW Government policies.Senior-level experience in internal audit and enterprise risk management with the proven ability to lead a small team.Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, public sector accountability, compliance requirements, and regulatory obligations.Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management frameworks, internal audit charters, audit plans, and assurance strategies.Why UsAs the prosecuting authority of NSW, the ODPP offers unique career opportunities.A premium location: Work from our brand-new office at Parkline Place, right next to Gadigal Metro station on Pitt Streetplacing you in the vibrant heart of Sydney.Flexible work arrangements: Enjoy a 35-hour work week, access to flex leave, and hybrid working options with a minimum of three days in the office.Meaningful work: Be part of a team that delivers challenging, purpose-driven work that makes a real difference to the community.Exceptional working conditions: Benefit from a strong focus on wellbeing, including 24/7 Employee Assistance Program (EAP), wellbeing check-ins, special fitness passport rates, and tailored workplace adjustments.Growth and development: Access ongoing training and development opportunities to support your career progression.Inclusive culture: Join one or more of our five affinity groupsFirst Nations, Disability and Neurodiversity, People of Diverse Genders and Sexualities, Women, and Cultural and Linguistic Diversityoffering connection, advocacy, and a platform to share experiences.InterviewsThe interview process will include capability-based assessments which may require your time and presence on more than one day.
