Full-time ongoing opportunityLocated in Parramatta with flexible working arrangements availableSalary ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 p.a. plus super and annual leave loading About the roleAs a Senior Risk Advisory Officer, you will play a key role in strengthening and embedding risk management capability across the department, with a strong focus on project and program-based risk. Working closely with other Risk Partners in the Chief Risk Office, you will provide clear and practical risk advice to support successful delivery of complex initiatives and strengthen risk maturity across the organisation.This role contributes to the delivery of agreed risk programs of work, including enhancing internal controls, embedding risk appetite statements, and supporting executive-level risk discussions. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and risk partners to support project/program risk reviews, assurance activities, and risk workshops, while contributing to risk reporting for senior leaders and oversight committees.For further information, please click here to view the role description.About you You are a proactive and adaptable risk professional who enjoys working across teams and influencing positive change. The ideal candidate will have:Excellent verbal and written communication skillsExperience working in risk, governance or assurance rolesConfidence working across teams and building relationships with a wide range of stakeholdersExperience conducting project-level risk assessments and developing project-level risk registers.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to juggle competing prioritiesExposure to risk management systems (eGRC or similar) is a plusKey knowledge and experience Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience in, risk management and risk governance in a large, complex organisation.Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department''s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department''s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.Essential requirements of the roleTertiary qualifications in Risk Management, Governance or a related discipline and/or equivalent workplace experience Current and valid Working with Children Check Clearance for paid employmentDemonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
