Long Meadow Ranch has an exciting opportunity to join our culinary farm team as a Farmers'' Market and Poultry Assistant.Long Meadow Ranch is a family-owned and operated producer and purveyor of world-class wine and food that is economically successful and socially responsible, using diversified, sustainable, and organic farming methods. We produce award-winning wines, handcrafted extra virgin olive oils, grass-fed beef, eggs, and heirloom fruits and vegetables.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation and loading of produce, meat, eggs and other products for transportation to farmers'' marketsAssist with set-up and take-down of farmers'' marketsProvide superior customer service and perform sales using cash, card, and an iPadEducate consumers and develop strong customer relationshipsMaintain an effective, clean and attractive storefront display that is visited by the publicHarvest, wash, sort and pack produce, and perform other basic farm duties as assignedEducation, Experience and RequirementsPassion for organic farm production, farmers'' markets and local foodInterest in fruits, vegetables, flowers, food and cookingMust be available to work Fridays, and preferably Tuesdays and Saturdays from 5:30 AM - 2PMMust be a team player and get along well with other team members and market vendorsStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong work ethic, organizational skills and integrityA pre-employment background check is requiredAbility to work in various settings including outside and in inclement weatherAbility to work on different ground surfaces and in rough and uneven terrainAbility to use both hands to handle, grasp, move and control objectsAbility to repeat the same movements throughout the shiftAbility to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend and twist bodyAbility to lift 50+ poundsCompensation and BenefitsThis is a part-time, hourly position (upto 24 hours per week)The Company reasonably expects to pay in the range of $16 to $20 for this position. Of course, this is depending on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, and business or organizational needs.
