As a Sterilising Services Technician, you will play a critical part in ensuring reusable medical devices are processed to the highest standards of safety, quality and compliance, directly contributing to positive patient outcomes.Working in our modern, fast-paced SSU, you will be responsible for the cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilisation and distribution of medical and surgical instruments in accordance with national standards, organisational policies and best practice guidelines. You will be part of a collaborative team that values precision, accountability and continuous improvement.This role is ideal for both experienced technicians and those earlier in their career who are passionate about working in a high-quality healthcare support service environment.Key ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Performing the collection, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, assembly, sterilisation and distribution of reusable medical devicesEnsuring all processes comply with relevant standards, including AS/NZS 4187, ISO and GENCA requirementsMaintaining accurate and timely documentation in line with Macquarie University Health policiesParticipating in audit preparation, quality activities and continuous improvement initiativesContributing to a safe working environment through adherence to occupational health and safety practicesWorking collaboratively within the SSU and broader clinical teams to support efficient service deliveryParticipating in competency-based training, professional development and performance review processesIdentifying, reporting and managing incidents and risks in accordance with policyWhy Join UsYou''ll play a key role in shaping the future of integrated healthcare in Australia.
