We support rail operators, asset owners, railway managers, maintainers, financiers, suppliers, contractors, and government regulators to deliver optimal project design, engineering, delivery, and operational solutions.Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience ground-breaking projects from idea to delivery and beyond.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:Working on the development and delivery of complex, multidisciplinary rail projects, including signalling, telecommunications, and control systems. Providing expert technical and design input, guiding engineering and support teams to deliver innovative solutions in the Rail Systems discipline for both greenfield and brownfield environments. Acting as project manager for a wide range of commissions, delivering project elements on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Preparing and reviewing concept signalling designs and system specifications, ensuring seamless integration and compliance with industry standards. Championing systems integration, verification and validation, and safety assurance across signalling, TMS, ETCS, and control systems. Collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver successful project outcomes and foster strong relationships. Contributing or facilitating Safety-in-Design workshops and risk reviews, supporting commissioning and operational readiness. Mentoring junior engineers and actively contributing to the growth of GHD''s Rail Consultancy locally and nationally. Supporting the Manager/Team Leader in expanding GHD''s Rail Consultancy, leveraging your expertise to drive business development and innovation.What you will bring to the teamElectrical Engineering degree or recognised equivalent tertiary qualification. 10+ years postgraduate experience. Registered Professional Engineer (RPEQ) (or working towards). Ideally, you will possess a wide knowledge of rail systems, the rail industry and, specific experience in conventional, and communications-based signalling technologies. You will be able to demonstrate experience in project development, design, construction, and maintenance. Ability to translate operators'' requirements into functional specifications. A passion for design documentation, assessment, and analysis of technical data. Well-developed communication skills both oral and written (including report writing). A strong background in building, nurturing, and maintaining ongoing client relationships.Interested?
