Applications include fueling stations, marine engines, peak shaving, power generation, virtual pipelines and well stimulation.Job OverviewBased in Melbourne and reporting to the General Manager, we are looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join our high performing Australian operations.The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for management and direct inventory control, sourcing and contracting all goods and services purchased by the company. In addition, is responsible to ensure the vast requirement and standards of the company are fulfilled. Will work in close association with domestic and international suppliers and customers, production, engineering and finance departments to ensure business success.ResponsibilitiesResponsible of the activities involved in the purchasing including expediting and stocking levels, indirect procurement, negotiating agreements, terms and conditions among others. Works with Engineering and Project Execution to establish new project priorities and assure timely acquisition of materials to support product launches. Manages RFQ, price negotiations, payment and delivery terms. Check compliance to specifications and budgets. Managing inventory levels and planning parameters, keeps care of supply related performance metrics. Managing approved supplier lists and records, implements the vendor qualification process. Responsible for the suppliers audit planning together with Quality Department. Proposes and supports negotiating major supply contracts to reduce the costs of goods, develops and continuously improves supplier relationship, provides needed input to critical meetings with suppliers on key projects and issues. Follow up on NCR for Non-Conforming Goods Received Manage Supplier Performance. Plans performance improvement in coordination with company objectives. Maintains compliance with the regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement. Process improvement (digitalisation of purchasing process, change of parts production). Updates the delivery dates in ERP System Identifies, implements and tracks key performance indicators (KPI''s) for the purchasing function and drives improvement in those measures. Establishes and implements purchasing policies and ensures compliance. Lead Biweekly procurement meetings with GM. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.QualificationsBachelor''s degree in business administration or related area required. 3 years plus purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of Purchasing Principles and how and when to implement. Ability to identify and implement changes to processes that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the purchase of materials. Strong ability to improve the supply chain and the ability to solve problems with minimal input from management. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of product. Understanding of ERP principles and how to use them effectively. Knowledge of business and management principles and how to use them effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Outlook.
