Our people come from a wide range of professions with diverse skills and experience driving the success of Energy Safe Victoria.About the Role:The Accounts Controller reports to the Financial Accounting Lead and is responsible for performing the accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle in line with ESV''s policies and procedures.Check and process all creditor and customers invoices into the financial system for timely and accurate preparation of payment batches for approval and payment in line with ESV policies and procedures.Maintain creditors and customers database and Masterfile, ensuring current contact information and bank details are recorded.Process journals as required for approval.Administer petty cash for ESV and act as guide for petty cash administrators at BOP.Generate and distribute invoices, including levy invoices, ensuring the appropriate authorisation for all debtor invoices issued is in line with the statement of delegations.Proactively monitor weekly ageing report and ensure collections within agreed timeframe.Reconciliation of daily bank statements and month-end balance sheets.Arrange for the receipting of all cheques, EFTPOS transactions or other forms of payments to ESV bank accounts on a daily basis. Prepare cash and cheque deposits for the bank on a weekly basis.Provide training to all stakeholders on the use of the accounting system.Manage activity in the accounts mailbox to ensure items are responded to in a timely manner.Communicate with internal staff/customers/supplier regarding invoicing and payment of invoices. Investigate customer concerns and queries.Participate in ESV month end closing out the accounts and reporting requirements under the direction of the Financial Accounting Lead.Assist with the creation and maintenance of records using the records management system.Liaison with bank to maintain and administrate the users'' profiles.Administer accounting software to address all finance related queries.To be successful, you''ll have:Degree qualification in Commerce or Accounting or relevant work experienceSubstantive general accounts experience in a similar role, and basic bookkeeping skills.Demonstrated ability to operate within strict rules, delegations and legal requirements.Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.Demonstrated strong communication skills including liaising with internal and external stakeholders and maintain an effective working relationship in a team environment.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Well-developed time management and prioritisation skills to meet deadlines and strong administrative skills such as filing and record keeping abilities.Previous working knowledge of Dynamic 365 and Microsoft Office software packages or similar (desired).How to applyPlease refer to the available position description to assess your suitability and submit your current resume and cover letter via the Apply button.
