Job DescriptionFIFO - 8/6 days and nights shiftBased in Tropicana, WAPermanent Full-timeSalary: $85k - $95kSGS Australia is looking for an experienced Fire Assayer to fill aFIFO role at our laboratory in Tropicana on an 8 days on / 6 days off day and nights roster.As a Fire Assayer you will be responsible for all tasks required in the Fire Assay, including weighing, fluxing, firing, knocking up and cupellation of samples in the correct numerical order. These tasks to be carried out following established QC procedures and avoiding contamination.Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:Responsible for weighing, fluxing, firing, knocking up and cupellation of samples in correct numerical orderThese tasks to be carried out following established QC procedures and avoiding contaminationResponsible for managing the recycling and disposal operations for pots, slag and cupelsResponsible for good housekeeping of fire assay areasResponsible for performing basic maintenance (non-trades) of fire assay equipmentMust use appropriate personal protective equipment in the correct manner and work to minimize creation of lead dustTo ensure all relevant paperwork and electronic records are filled out correctlyTo perform other tasks as needed, including but not limited to, sample digestion and analysis of grade control samples, sample preparation, volent extractions and quality control of dataQuality and quantity of samples producedSample preparation to a high standardEnsure daily production targets are metMaintain a safety aware environment Qualifications As the successful candidate you will have:Neat and tidy work habitsStrict adherence to personal hygiene rules for leadPrevious experience in sample preparationUnderstanding and knowledge of LOI, moisture and fusing techniquesSound knowledge of Wet Chemistry environment
