Senior Manager, Business Banking Compliance, Business LendingYour businessBusiness Banking Compliance, as part of Group Compliance Line 2 at CommBank, collaborates with Business Banking and central teams to ensure regulatory compliance, manage regulatory changes, and provide independent assurance to support strong customer and business outcomes.Your business partnersBusiness Banking offers a wide range of services and solutions from Transactional Banking, Payments and Merchant Acquiring to Business Lending, Credit Structuring and Business Financial Assistance in addition to specialised services and transformative digital technology and innovation. We support the full spectrum of customers'' needs from the smallest businesses to the largest corporates.Your teamBusiness Banking Compliance is a collaborative team that delivers expert compliance advice and oversight, supporting strong business outcomes. Business Lending Compliance, as part of this function, provides independent Line 2 Compliance Advisory services for all business and commercial lending products at CommBank. The team also supports Financial Assistance and Group Credit Structuring, focusing on customers facing financial difficulty.The Senior Manager, reporting to the Executive Manager, works closely with Line 1 Risk to ensure effective compliance support.Key responsibilities of this role includeProviding senior Line 2 Compliance Advisory support to Business Banking teams on regulatory, licensing, Code, and internal policy obligations relevant to Business Lending (excluding Financial Crime).Partnering with Line 1 Risk teams and Product Owners to identify, assess, and manage compliance risks across business and commercial lending products, including product design, distribution, and lifecycle management.Providing independent review, challenge, and guidance to support "compliant by design" outcomes across change initiatives, including product, process, system, and operating model changes.Leading compliance input into the identification, investigation, assessment, and remediation of compliance incidents and issues, including root cause analysis and the development of sustainable remediation actions.Supporting effective issue and remediation management by overseeing action plans, monitoring progress, and supporting governance-aligned closure.Interpreting complex regulatory and policy requirements and translating these into clear, practical guidance for Business Banking stakeholders.Supporting the Executive Manager by contributing compliance insights, analysis, and thematic observations for reporting to senior management and governance forums.Providing guidance, coaching, and quality assurance support to more junior team members to uplift capability and consistency of compliance advisory outcomes.Proactively identifying areas for improvement across Business Lending and implement process enhancements to strengthen the compliance environment, ensuring proactive detection and resolution of potential gaps.Your skills & experienceWe''re looking for a motivated and adaptable team player who takes ownership of outcomes and brings the following skills and experience:Demonstrated practical experience (typically 7+ years) providing Line 2 Compliance Advisory support, ideally within Business Lending, Credit, or Financial Services environments.Strong negotiation skills with the ability to influence outcomes and align diverse stakeholders to business and risk objectives.Excellent written communication skills, with attention to detail and the ability to produce clear, concise, high-quality materials.Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex regulatory activities, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes to tight deadlines.Ability to provide constructive challenge and exercise sound judgement to ensure good customer and compliance outcomes.Well-developed risk management capability, with the confidence to make timely, well-reasoned decisions.Strong knowledge of ASIC, APRA, BCCC, RBA and ACCC regulatory requirements, with a solid understanding of Australian financial services law.A role model for CBA''s values of Care, Courage and Commitment.A degree in Law, Business, Commerce or a related discipline is preferred.Working at CommBankAt CommBank, we''re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce reflecting the customers, businesses and communities we serve.
