We are committed to the ecologically sound and sustainable use of resources and strive to operate in a manner that minimises waste and protects the environment.Sims Metal have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Maintenance Fitter - Fixed Plant to join our VIC maintenance team, based in Brooklyn.Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you''ll play a key role in carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, and day to day repairs on our fixed plant equipment.What We Offer:A competitive wage structure- Base Rate of $45.76-$48.52p/h + ample over time availableThe opportunity to work with state-of-the-art machineryA strong focus on multi-skilling and continuous improvementStable, full-time hours covered by our EBA including annual rate increasesKey Responsibilities:Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on fixed plant equipment, including hammermill shredders, conveyor systems, balers, and metal sortersWork to a daily maintenance plan and complete all relevant documentationRespond to and assist with equipment breakdownsContribute to continuous improvement initiativesFollow all safety, environmental, and quality protocolsAbout You:Trade qualified Fitter & Turner, with experience in conveyors, motors, and gearboxesConfident in general weldingHold a current driver''s licenseHands-on experience in a similar heavy industrial or metal processing environmentStrong diagnostic and repair skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalIf you''re a safety-focused professional with a passion for machinery and continuous improvement, we''d love to hear from you.A career with Sims provides you with the opportunity to work with an organisation whose goal is to be the world''s safest and most responsible recycling company.
