DP World Brisbane is currently seeking an experienced Automation and Electrical Systems Specialist to support the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of advanced automation technologies within a major port and terminal environment.This role is well suited to professionals from electrical trades or engineering backgrounds with strong experience in automation, control systems, and industrial technology, who are motivated to work with cutting-edge systems such as LiDAR, PLCs, automated cranes, and intelligent vehicle systems.You will play a key role in the operation, commissioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated systems used in port and terminal operations. Working closely with operations, maintenance, IT, and OEM partners, you will help ensure automation systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements.Key AccountabilitiesSupport commissioning, testing, and fault diagnosis of automation and electrical systemsMaintain and troubleshoot PLCs, drives, sensors, and communication networksAssist with automation upgrades, trials, and technology evaluationsEnsure compliance with WHS, electrical safety legislation, and site proceduresCollaborate with operations and maintenance teams to minimise downtimeSupport documentation, change management, and system integrity checksParticipate in investigations of system faults and reliability issuesPerform system integration maintenance and trouble shooting.Support systems including:Automated Stacking Cranes (ASC)Quay Cranes (QC)Intelligent Guided Vehicles (IGV)PLC-based control systems and industrial networksEmerging technologies, including LiDAR-based safety,5G, and sensing systemsQualifications, Skills and ExperienceMinimum of five years'' experience working with industrial automation or control systemsExposure to PLCs, drives, sensors, and industrial communications -signalling system (5G)Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilityAbility to work safely in a high-risk, operational environmentGood communication skills and ability to work across disciplinesExperience within ports, terminals, heavy industry, mining, or manufacturing environments is highly regarded.Experience with commissioning, trials, or new technology deployment (e.g. LiDAR, vision systems) and working knowledge of industrial IT / OT networks is highly regarded.About DP WorldDP World is reshaping the future of global trade to improve lives everywhere.
