We do this by having amazing teachers, youth workers, counsellors and curriculum to create an environment that makes people want to be at school and learn.Y Schools Queensland Junior Logan Campusare seeking a passionate Pathways Lead (Junior) on aPermanent, Full-Time basis based in Kingston, Logan.About the roleThe role of Pathways Lead is focused on providing job creation and job seeker abilities through the facilitation of vocational and education training to vulnerable young people. The position is critical to the streamlined delivery of Pathways to the campuses. This will be achieved by working with relevant employers, industry bodies, training and employment service providers and community networks to develop approaches and strategies that engage and meet the needs of our studentsWhat will my time look like?Coordinate the development and implementation of training and employment pathways, designed to lead students into school-based traineeships/apprenticeships (SBATs) and employmentBuild external partnerships with prospective local employers as appropriate to support the VET in School (VETis) Programs, SBATs and part-time/casual employmentFacilitate the retention of training and employment partnerships that benefit quality outcomes for students and program participants through the VETis Programs and SBATs as outlined in The Y VET Career Education FrameworkAssist in the delivery of wellbeing and enrichment programsCreate, implement and evaluate a process to select students to participate in VETis and nationally accredited certificate programs as per The Y VET Career Education FrameworkAm I a good match?Do you hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Career Development, or similar qualification; or significant demonstrated experience in Youth Work and VET and working towards the completion of the above certificate or similarCurrent First Aid and CPR Certificate, or willingness to obtain themPositive Notice Blue Card, or willingness to obtain oneValid National Police check within 12 monthsSignificant demonstrated recent experience in working with at-risk young people in a VET environmentDemonstrated ability in the creation of comprehensive industry-specific programs that provide participants with hands-on experiences and opportunities to link with genuine employment opportunitiesUp-to-date knowledge of the labour market, employability skills and job creation and acquisition strategies; the ability to impart this knowledge to students in engaging and creative waysWhat''s in it for you?As the Pathways Lead, you will work closely with the Pathways Coordinator to ensure the delivery of high-quality vocational education and training programs to our students.
