This is an afternoon shift role supporting yard and plant operations through the safe and efficient operation of mobile equipment.You''ll be part of a practical, close-knit team where consistency, teamwork, and safe operation are genuinely valued.Hours of workAfternoon shift: 2pm - 10pm + overtime availableYour Responsibilities Will IncludeOperating excavators, front end loaders, and forklifts to move, load, and sort scrap metalFeeding and supporting processing plant operationsAssisting with general yard and operational duties as requiredCompleting pre-start checks and reporting any equipment issuesMaintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environmentFollowing all site safety procedures and safe work practicesTo Be Successful in This Role, You Will HaveProven experience operating excavators and/or front end loadersA current Forklift (LF) licence (essential)Experience in the scrap metal, recycling, manufacturing, or heavy industrial environment (desirable)A strong safety mindset and ability to follow proceduresReliability, good attendance, and a solid work ethicFlexibility to support different operational tasks and equipment as requiredIn Return, We OfferCompetitive rates in line with our Enterprise AgreementOn the job training, with certified tickets and opportunities for progressionA supportive, safety-focused team environmentPaid Parental Leave: 12 weeks (primary carer) or 6 weeks (non-primary)Sound like you?If you''re an experienced operator who takes pride in safe, consistent work, we''d love to hear from youA career with Sims provides you with the opportunity to work with an organisation whose goal is to be the world''s safest and most responsible recycling company.
