The sanctuary protects more than 350 species of mammals, birds, reptiles and frogs across diverse and spectacular landscapes.Outback Spirit Tours is seeking two capable and adventurous couples to join us for the touring season from April through to October, living and working onsite at this truly unique and remote camp.Due to accommodation arrangements, applications must be from couples, filling the following four roles:Camp ManagerGuide (Coxswain Licence required)ChefCamp AttendantCAMP MANAGERThis is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the day-to-day operations of the camp. You''ll be responsible for ensuring smooth operations, exceptional guest experiences, and a strong, supportive team culture.Key responsibilities include:Leading and supporting onsite staff across all departmentsDelivering exceptional guest experiences and actively working towards strong Net Promoter Scores (NPS)Overseeing food and beverage service, accommodation standards, and guest activitiesManaging rosters, logistics, administration, and cost controlEnsuring camp infrastructure and grounds are well maintainedDriving a strong safety culture, including incident and hazard reportingSupporting staff inductions and ongoing trainingGUIDE (COXSWAIN LICENCE REQUIRED)The Guide plays a key role in bringing Pungalina to life for our guests through guided experiences on land and water.Key responsibilities include:Leading interpretive guest activities and wildlife experiencesOperating guided boat tours on the Calvert RiverSharing knowledge of local ecosystems, wildlife, and conservationAssisting with general camp operations and maintenance as requiredCHEFAs our Solo Chef, you''ll take ownership of the kitchen and deliver high-quality, hearty meals that exceed guest expectations - even in a remote setting.Key responsibilities include:Managing daily kitchen operations independentlyPreparing and presenting high-quality meals for guests and staffEnsuring strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and health regulationsMaintaining cleanliness and organisation of kitchen areasCreating memorable dining experiences that enhance each guest''s stayCAMP ATTENDANTThe Camp Attendant is a true all-rounder, supporting food and beverage service, housekeeping, and daily camp operations.Key responsibilities include:Providing warm, professional food and beverage serviceSupporting the kitchen with preparation, plating, and cleaning as neededMaintaining guest accommodation and shared spaces to a high standardAssisting with general camp duties and guest engagementCreating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere throughout the campWHAT WILL MAKE YOU STAND OUTCertificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent (Chef)A positive, team-focused attitude and strong work ethicAbility to live and work together in a remote environmentPride in cleanliness, presentation, and guest servicePrevious experience in remote, lodge, or expedition-style operationsStrong leadership and communication skillsA passion for nature, conservation, tourism, and guest experienceAbility to problem-solve and adapt in a remote settingCurrent RSA, Food Safety, and Remote First Aid (including CPR) certificatesMaintenance or grounds experience (highly regarded)REMOTE LIVINGAll of our camps and lodges are located in some of Australia''s most remote regions. Many cannot be accessed by road -instead, you''ll be flown to site from Darwin via our private aviation network.You''ll live and work onsite for the entirety of the season, without regular access to nearby towns or cities.
