From early prototype builds through production ramp, you will design, validate, and deploy manufacturing systems that become the standard production model across ResMed''s global manufacturing network .The role offers clear growth into end-to-end production line and system ownership , exposure to complex cross-functional decision-making, and the chance to influence how products are built not just where problems are fixed.Role OverviewAs a Manufacturing Engineer within the NPI team, you will translate product design intent into a robust, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing process . You will partner closely with diverse functions internally as well as external equipment suppliers and system integrators.Your focus will be on manufacturability-by-design , production system architecture, equipment strategy, and readiness for global deployment ensuring new products meet yield, throughput, cost, quality, and OHS requirements from day one.Key ResponsibilitiesManufacturing System & Line Architecture (Ownership)Define end-to-end production process flow , station strategy, and line architecture for new productsDevelop line layout inputs, station capacity assumptions, takt time and cycle time modelsMake informed automation vs manual trade-off decisions aligned to volume, cost, and scalability needsEnsure production system designs are scalable and transferable across global manufacturing sitesEquipment Strategy & Line Specification (Ownership)Lead equipment strategy including URS/SOW development , vendor engagement, and technical alignmentDrive vendor selection, FAT/SAT planning, commissioning approach, and site handoverDefine spares, maintenance concepts, safety requirements, and documentation standardsCoordinate and technically lead equipment suppliers and system integratorsNPI Build Execution & Ramp ReadinessSupport and lead prototype, pilot, and ramp builds , enabling rapid learning and iterationDrive data-driven root cause analysis and continuous improvement during NPI buildsSupport basic equipment and fixture bring-up, commissioning, and debug activitiesIdentify and close gaps to achieve production readiness targetsManufacturability-by-Design & ValidationPartner with Product Development to influence assembly architecture, tolerance stack-ups, part handling, fixturing strategy, and process controlsEnsure manufacturing solutions meet yield, throughput, and cost targetsComplete process validation activities and develop validation-ready documentationIntroduce and maintain production procedures and work instructionsQuality, Safety & Continuous ImprovementIdentify and implement quality and efficiency improvements using GMP, LEAN, and Six Sigma principlesEnsure adherence to OHS requirements and safe equipment designRepresent Manufacturing in cross-functional forums and design reviewsCollaboration & Technical LeadershipBuild strong internal and external working relationships across functions and suppliersClearly communicate progress, risks, and trade-offs; escalate early with data-based optionsOccasionally lead project teams and formally train or mentor junior engineersSet technical standards and contribute to best-practice manufacturing approachesWhat Success Looks LikeManufacturing systems are designed right the first time , not retrofitted laterNPI builds progress smoothly with clear learning cycles and rapid issue closureProduction lines meet readiness targets for yield, throughput, cost, quality, and safetyDeveloped manufacturing solutions become the standard deployable model globallyQualifications & ExperienceRequiredBachelor''s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experienceMinimum 3- 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience , preferably in NPI or complex production environmentsStrong understanding of production systems, equipment integration, and manufacturing fundamentalsDeveloping professional expertise with the ability to apply company policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of issuesPreferredExperience designing or owning manufacturing lines or automated equipmentExposure to regulated manufacturing environments (medical, pharma, electronics, automotive, etc.)Experience working with external equipment suppliers or system integratorsIdeal Candidate ProfileFunctional SkillsManufacturing line architecture and end-to-end system ownershipEquipment strategy, specification, and supplier leadershipProduction line readiness fundamentals (layout, capacity, line balance, takt/cycle time)NPI build execution, pilot builds, and data-driven problem solvingEquipment and fixture bring-up and commissioning supportBehaviours & CompetenciesThrives in fast-paced NPI environments and on the factory floorStrong ownership mindset with disciplined follow-throughClear, confident communicator who escalates early and constructivelyInfluential cross-functional partner who shapes both product and manufacturing decisionsPractical risk manager who makes sound trade-offs under pressureEmerging technical leader who mentors others and sets standardsLI-APACJoining us is more than saying "yes" to making the world a healthier place.
