Job DescriptionOur Pact Packaging division is pioneering a whole of product life cycle approach to sustainable packaging. Partnering with global brands to local producers, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and sustainable practices into everything we design and manufacture.About this opportunityWe specialise in the manufacture and supply of rigid plastic and metal packaging servicing for the consumer and industrial sectors.Reporting to the Plant Manager the Production Manager is responsible for the overall management and performance of the full production manufacturing steel drums and IBC reconditioning business. The focus of the role is to build a culture that has a strong Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence mindset driving towards achieving production KPIs.Your key responsibilities will be to:Lead and develop the production team including mould change and production technicians.Action weekly production plans with a focus on machine uptime and minimising wasteWork with the reliability manager, continue to review machine setups, and optimise product manufacture.Work with the Supply Chain Team to ensure planning and scheduling are optimised and that key issues likely to impact customer delivery needs are known and understood.Support the maintenance and logistics teams.Have a Continuous Improvement mindset to improved Safety, Productivity, Quality and ReliabilityChampion a safety-first cultureEnsure all standards ISO, HACCP and GMP standards and practices are achieved.Lead and managing manufacturing activities to achieve the most effective outcome in support of the business objectives.Your skills and experienceTo be successful in this role, you''ll have:Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing/production environment.Proven experience in Lean and Operational ExcellenceLeadership, influencing, negotiation, change management, conflict resolution, financial and computer literacy skillsQualificationsBachelor''s degree, preferably in operations management or industrial engineering, plus five to seven years of experience in supervision within a manufacturing environmentAdditional InformationAbout usOur vision is to lead the circular economy through packaging, reuse and recycling solutions.
