In this role, you will support those accessing the service to create positive and practical outcomes.The Financial Counsellor provides professional financial counselling services, assisting individuals and families experiencing financial difficulties.As a Financial Counsellor, you willAssess the financial situation of individuals and families experiencing difficulties, provide information regarding government assistance, negotiation of repayment with creditors, and assistance in accessing community resources as required.Empower clients to manage their own financial situations and to deal with creditors through the provision of information on their rights and responsibilities.Advocate on behalf of the clients when required in a manner that encourages independence and self-sufficiency in clientsEngage proactively with community services and hard-to-reach individuals to ensure inclusive accessContribute to community education initiatives that raise awareness of financial wellbeing issuesWhat makes a difference for us?A Diploma in Financial Counselling is essentialCompleted or working towards a Problem Gambling Skill Set CHCSS00111course.Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and a non-judgmental approach in all interactions, creating a space where individuals feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered.Experience in building collaborative networks and working alongside health, mental health, and community support providers will be highly regarded.Eligibility for membership with Financial Counselling Queensland (FCQ).Current drivers'' license.Working with Children Check (Blue Card)Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and therefore may result in the role closing early if the right applicant is found.What makes a difference for you?NFP Salary Packaging: Save tax and increase your take home pay by salary packaging your everyday living expenses and bills (up to $15,900) and meal entertainment (up to $2,650) per annum.
