Through our work across employment services, education and training, labour mobility programs, harvest services and Indigenous programs, we focus on one clear purposeDescription Helping People | Addressing Needs | Improving LivesAs an approved employer under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme, MADEC supports workers from Pacific Island countries and Timor-Leste to access meaningful employment in Australia, while providing Australian employers with a reliable workforce.About the RoleAs a Regional Liaison Officer, you will be the key point of contact and trusted support for PALM Scheme workers while they live and work in Australia. This is a highly people-focused role where no two days are the same.You will provide pastoral care, practical support, and advocacy to help workers settle into their new environment, remain safe and well, and succeed in their employment. Your work plays a critical role in worker wellbeing, productivity, and overall program success.Key responsibilities include:Building strong, respectful relationships with workers through regular check-ins and on-site visitsProviding pastoral care and practical support, including assistance with accommodation, transport, medical appointments, travel, and community connectionsActing as the first point of contact for worker enquiries and concernsIdentifying wellbeing, safety, or workplace issues early and escalating when requiredSupporting worker inductions, arrivals, and departuresLiaising between workers, host employers, service providers, and MADEC teamsPromoting health, safety, and wellbeing, including conducting toolbox talks and supporting WHS requirementsProviding out-of-hours support when needed, including evenings and weekendsThis role requires flexibility, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting people who are living and working away from home.Skills And Experiences Who Will Thrive in This RoleWe''re looking for people with:Strong people skills able to build trust, guide conversations, resolve issues calmly, and support positive outcomesEmpathy and cultural sensitivity a genuine respect for different cultures, backgrounds, and experiencesResilience and adaptability comfortable managing competing priorities and supporting people through challenging situationsClear communication skills confident communicating with workers, employers, and service providersProblem-solving ability able to respond practically and thoughtfully to a wide range of enquiriesOrganisation and accountability managing documentation, follow-ups, and compliance requirementsYou don''t need formal experience in labour mobility or pastoral care.
