As young people age out of care and no longer have access to support, they are more likely than their peers to:experience Homelessnessneed income support and parenting paymentsinteract with law enforcement and the justice systemneed access to treatment for substance abusehave their parental responsibility removedThrough providing education, accommodation and advocacy support to care-leavers, CASPA Foundation can help them achieve their goals to lift themselves out of poverty and thrive as vital members of our communities.Expected Knowledge and SkillsThe CASPA Foundation are particularly interested in candidates with networks related to:Philanthropic investmentImpact investingNotable sponsorship relationshipsAdditionally, candidates with the following experience will be highly regarded.Business AcumenStrategic managementAICD accreditationCritical Director ResponsibilitiesAs a Board Director, you will be required to attend Board meetings online via teams or in person. Your involvement will be crucial in guiding our initiatives and ensuring that we provide the best possible support to young people exiting care. Board meetings are currently scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of each month.It is the duty of all Board directors to:act with care and diligence;act in good faith;not to improperly use information;not to improperly use their position;to declare a conflict of interest;to prevent insolvent trading of the Company;be a positive role model for the CASPA FoundationIt is also expected that all Board directors will:Uphold the values and mission of the CASPA Foundation.Provide oversight across strategy, risk, compliance, and financial stewardship.Support the building of strategic relationships with partners, investors, and clients.Ensure accountability to stakeholders and alignment with our constitution and regulatory requirements.Actively participate in Board meetings, relevant subcommittees, and strategic workshops.Maintain and model ethical leadership and adherence to the Boards Code of Conduct.LocationWe are looking for Directors based anywhere in Australia but preferably in the Northern Territory, North Queensland and Northern NSW areas.
