They cover Australias atmosphere, water, oceans and space environments.The Bureau is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Operational Technology & Engineering Manager. This is a key leadership position within the Observing Systems and Operations Program providing specialist advice, direction and guidance on the observing infrastructure architecture and equipment.The Operational Technology Lead also manages a diverse team of specialists responsible for the development and design of engineering and technological solutions, incorporating level three support, on a range of technologies spanning from radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to dedicated observations and satellites to ships at sea so as to meet business needs.The Operational Technology Lead will also actively engage with industry and stakeholders, including the science and engineering communities, to continuously improve observations infrastructure. Drawing on their experience and knowledge, the Operational Technology Lead will be responsible for establishing capability, strategy and methods for providing the required observations for Bureau services.The position will work closely with the related teams in Infrastructure Development and the National Operations of the Observing Systems and Operations Program, along with other business areas of the organisation, to develop these capabilities.The successful applicant will have extensive experience in engineering planning and delivery.
