OverviewAs an Accounting Manager at Insight, based in Sydney, APAC you will lead and develop the accounting function, overseeing the period close process, and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting in compliance with US and Australian statutory regulations. You will mentor and manage a team of accountants, collaborate cross-functionally with finance and operational departments, and serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audits.Leadership: The Financial Controller for APAC is Helen Dawtrey. Based in Sydney, Helen leads the regional finance function with a focus on operational excellence, compliance, and strategic support across the APAC business. She works closely with senior stakeholders to drive financial performance and ensure robust governance. She is a key contact for finance-related matters and is committed to supporting her team and business partners with clarity and integrity.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the accounting function, overseeing the period close process, and ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP and Australian statutory regulationsLead month-end and quarter-end close and consolidation processes across APAC, coordinating with business and accounting teamsPrepare statutory financial reports for Australia, including APAC consolidation for the holding company, ensuring timely and compliant submissionsOversee tax compliance activities, including preparation, review, and timely filing of statutory returns and reports in collaboration with external consultantsAssist in the preparation of quarterly 10Q packets for SEC submission, ensuring accuracy and timelinessAct as the primary liaison for internal and external audits, including managing the PBC list and audit queriesEnsure compliance with SOX testing procedures, including quarterly self-audits, revenue recognition reviews, related accounting adjustments, and business guidanceDevelop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal standardsMonitor and manage APAC cashflow to ensure operational funding needs are metOversee bank guarantee management, including drawdown applications, withdrawals, and related depositsDrive system implementations and acquisition integrationsIdentify and lead continuous process improvement initiatives across accounting operationsContribute to the enhancement of internal processes to ensure compliance and operational efficiencyAnalyse P&L actuals vs. budget, provide variance insights, and deliver recommendations to business managersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planningProvide technical accounting advice and solutions to the business as neededLead special projects and respond to ad hoc requests as requiredBe AmbITious: This opportunity is not just about what you do today but also about where you can go tomorrow.
