Position Summary (Remuneration equivalent to Executive level 4.3) The Head of Service, ACT Public Service, is looking to appoint a Director-General to lead the newly established Digital Canberra Directorate (DCBR) responsible for overseeing all digital and IT functions across the ACT Public Service. The Director-General Digital Canberra is a unique leadership opportunity to make a significant contribution to the delivery of IT projects and priorities for the ACT Government. The Director-General, who is also the Chief Digital Officer, will lead Digital Canberra including whole-of-government strategic planning for ICT and cyber security. Key Responsibilities Drive the ACT Governments digital and data agenda by delivering key digital priorities and outcomes, and implement agreed whole-of-government ICT projects including optimisation and maintenance consistent with the expectations of the government and the community. Assist the Government to adapt its business and frontline leadership to a digital context by devising and executing strategies for whole-of-government engagement enabled by the digital revolution, strengthening a vibrant and diverse digital economy, and focusing on the creation of capacity, collaboration and workforce participation. Ensure that the ACT Public Service is digitally innovative, dynamic and capable in its service to the community. Act as a member of the ACT Public Service Strategic Board, working closely with the Head of Service and other Directors-General on crosscutting issues and playing a key part in the overall leadership of the ACT Public Service. Lead the Digital Canberra Directorate, overseeing all digital and IT functions across the ACT Public Service. Remuneration The position attracts a remuneration package of $487,516 or $504,838 per annum (dependent on current superannuation arrangements) with a cash component of $433,050 (from 1 July 2025).
