We also specialise in rental solutions for power generators, compressors, and temperature control systems, helping our customers power major infrastructure projects and drive reliable energy solutions for mining, construction, and industry.Now, were seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Solutions Group in Melbourne, Perth, or Brisbane. In this pivotal role, youll be at the centre of EPSAs most complex and high-value projects, developing and managing multimillion-dollar estimates for major bids across mining, oil & gas, data centres, power generation, industrial, hybrid (including energy storage), and Defence sectors.Youll lead the estimation process from initial inquiry through to contract award, collaborating with engineers, suppliers, and sales teams to craft cost-effective, innovative solutions that meet our customers needs and EPSAs strategic goals. Youll engage directly with senior stakeholders, present estimation strategies, and provide high-level updates that shape business decisions.Your expertise will drive improvements in our estimation processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and competitiveness. Youll also play a key role in mentoring and developing other team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.What youll be doing (but not limited to!)Deliver accurate, on-time price estimates and quality, compliant submissions for large-scale, multidisciplinary projects.Engage constructively with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations and evaluate cost-saving measures.Ensure engineered solutions meet tender requirements and customer expectations.Collate final submission documentation and support post-tender technical clarifications and negotiations.Oversee multiple bid estimates concurrently, balancing competing priorities and ensuring timely delivery.Participate in risk workshops for bids over $5m and contribute to comprehensive risk assessments.Foster strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, regularly presenting estimation strategies and outcomes to the Senior Leadership Team.Identify and implement improvements in the estimation process to increase efficiency and competitiveness.Mentor and develop other Estimators, sharing best practices and driving team growth.Support the sales team in creating genset CSQs, DTOs, and maintaining communication with Cat factories and design offices when required.Ensure consistency in EPSA proposals and leverage insights from past bids and completed projects.Uphold EPSAs values of safety, wellbeing, honesty, accountability, performance, and engagement in every aspect of your work.What makes you successfulMechanical or Electrical Engineering degree preferred; other technical disciplines considered with relevant experience.Extensive experience (510 years) in bid preparation and estimation within power generation, mining, or related industries.Proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-complexity estimates, including bids over $20 million (for large-scale new equipment sales) and/or long-term major rental projects (in the cooling, air compression and/or power generation spaces).Advanced technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical power generation installations.Strong commercial and financial acumen, including understanding of currency markets, escalation, inflation, financing, bank guarantees, assets depreciation and replacement value.Demonstrated success working in multidisciplinary teams across multiple bids.Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to present estimation strategies and outcomes to senior leadership.Commitment to safety, wellbeing, honesty, accountability, performance, and engagement.Why work with us?Seamless Onboarding Experience: Start strong with our centralised induction program at our Mulgrave (VIC) head office, designed to set you up for success.Celebrate You: Enjoy paid leave on your birthday and take time to give back with volunteer leave.Exclusive Discounts: Access a wide range of retail discounts, plus special pricing on CAT merchandise and health insurance.Drive Your Way: Take advantage of our vehicle novated lease options to make your commute more rewarding.Support for Families: We offer paid parental leave to support you during life''s most important moments.Refer & Be Rewarded: Earn generous rewards through our team member referral program.Grow with Us: Upskill with job-relevant education support, including access to Cat University and other learning & development opportunities.Recognition Matters: Be celebrated through our Employee Recognition Program and Service Awards.Wellbeing First: Access confidential support anytime through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Ready to power your career with EPSA?
