The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical and services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.CGH also provides aged care and community services in the Wellington Shire and beyond.We operate four residential aged care homes located in Sale, Maffra, and Heyfield delivering high-quality, person-centred care in supportive and homelike environments.CGH provides a wide range of community-based services that support people to remain healthy, active, and independent in their own homes. This includes the provision of Support at Home, Commonwealth Home Support Programs, and other in-home services tailored to individual needs.Our integrated model of care is supported by a multidisciplinary allied health team offering physiotherapy, dietetics, occupational therapy, speech pathology, and social work. We also provide accessible public dental services to enhance community wellbeing.CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University''s School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.CGH encourages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to consider application to this positionAbout DepartmentThe Emergency Department facilities include 2 resus bays, 5 cubicles and 2 treatment rooms. The Emergency Department is supported by a range of Junior Medical Officers and Senior Medical Officers, FACEM as well as highly skilled nursing staff.About the RoleThe purpose of this position is to provide and support the effective and efficient delivery of emergency medical services for CGH as a clinical leader and teacher within the Emergency Department consistent with approved scope of practice and CGH emergency services capability.DutiesSupport the senior management team in appropriately prioritising patient need and to operate efficiently and effectively with a view to meeting community needs and providing a financially sustainable service.Escalate any operational issues impacting on service provision and patient care to the Hospital Coordinator or Executive team.Provide support and facilitation of learning opportunities for junior medical staff and undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines.Undertake performance appraisals at regular intervals as deemed fit by the Department HeadUndertake appropriate credentialing for invasive and non-invasive proceduresQualifications, Skills and ExperienceMandatoryMBBS or equivalent degree enabling registration with the Medical Board of AustraliaGeneral Registration with AHPRA or eligible for provisional or limited registration.ACEM Non-Accredited TraineesMinimum 5 years postgraduate experienceSignificant experience providing emergency medicine including experience supporting and training junior medical and clinical staff and undergraduate students.Salary packagingEmployee Assistance ProgramSocial ClubApplicationPlease attach your resume and cover letter to your applicationStatement addressing Selection Criteria including qualifications, experience and Leadership and Technical Capability Requirements as outlined in the position descriptionAll appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.At CGH we acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, equitable and inclusive.
