About GEMCO Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is an open-cut mine that is accountable for over 15% of the worlds manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963. Residential option to live on Groote Eylandt considered. As the Senior Civil Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the structural integrity program while providing expert civil and structural engineering support and governance across a complex operational site. Other key responsibilities include, but arent limited to: Review and endorse designs, risk assessments, and inspection scopes Lead engagement with external designers and inspection contractors Provide technical assurance across both brownfield and new infrastructure Support root cause investigations and maintain inspection records About You You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: Delivering civil/structural design, inspection and risk management in operational settings Providing technical leadership and mentoring to engineering professionals Developing and maintaining governance systems and processes to control Civil and Structural Engineering standards Applying safety, health and environmental design principles and driving quality outcomes Engaging effectively with stakeholders across multi-disciplinary teams Qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering Hold, or be eligible for, CPEng or RPEQ Current Class C Drivers Licence South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
