Vice President, Technology Adelaide or Sydney based (reporting to our CFO) The Vice President, Technology plays a senior and pivotal role in Avance Clinical''s ongoing success and is responsible for leading and managing the IT & AI function. Avance Clinical is a Contract Research Organisation that offers specialised services supporting drug development for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Responsibilities Develop, execute and maintain a comprehensive technology roadmap that aligns with the company''s strategic goals, business objectives, and longrange plans. Evaluate and capitalize on emerging technologies and methodologies (AI/ML, cloud, data analytics, CSA) to enhance service offerings, improve operational efficiency, and create new revenue streams. Serve as the principal technology advisor to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors, translating complex technical concepts into businessfocused solutions and strategies. Champion a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across all technology functions. Oversee technologyrelated M&A activities, including due diligence and postacquisition integration. Stay current and up to date on the latest technology, innovation and methodologies. Participate in business strategy sessions, empowering business leaders to embrace the role that Technology plays in growing the business in a safe, secure and profitable way. Approve and manage the Technology budget, collaborating closely with the Finance team to ensure appropriate spending and adherence to targets. Approving all technology related projects, ensuring appropriate ROI due diligence has been executed. Project manage high value and/or complex Technology projects. Partnering with Senior Leadership and business innovators to drive waste cutting, revenue generating initiatives. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PhD) in Information Technology or related discipline. Direct experience building and leading an AI/ML or Data Science function with AI focused recent experience. Proven track record of successfully implementing innovative technologies that resulted in measurable business impact within the clinical research industry. Experience with global operations and managing geographically distributed teams. Familiarity with modern cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS platforms common in the CRO industry.
