Role Summary The Head of IT & Business Systems is responsible for leading the growth and implementation of the companys technology strategy and enhancing business systems to support growth, efficiency, and innovation. This role oversees the design, implementation, security, and optimisation of all IT infrastructure and business applications, ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. The role partners with Department Heads to identify and implement technology solutions that improve processes, drive operational efficiencies, and support cross-departmental collaboration. It is accountable for application development, system integrations, data management, and continuous improvement of IT tools, ensuring that technology enables informed decision-making and supports both strategic and operational goals. You will champion the adoption of AI technologies across the business, identifying opportunities to leverage AI for smarter decision-making, efficiency, and innovation. Project management is a key aspect of this role, including planning, executing, and delivering technology initiatives on time and within budget. The Head of IT & Business Systems also manages vendor relationships, IT budgets, and ensures compliance with internal standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities Technology Strategy Ensure IT initiatives support overall company strategy and drive growth. Drive innovation and adoption of emerging technologies, including AI, to maintain competitive advantage. Develop and maintain the IT roadmap. Oversee planning and delivery of IT projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. Business Systems & Applications Lead the development, improvement, and integration of business systems and applications (ERP, CRM, POS, BI, PLM, etc.). Ensure applications are integrated seamlessly across departments, improving workflow and data accuracy with a continuous improvement mindset. Evaluate and implement new technology solutions to enhance business processes and support decision-making. Oversee data warehouse strategy, analytics tools, and system enhancements. Manage projects related to system upgrades, integrations, and new application implementations. IT Operations Enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure and business systems. Maintain IT uptime and infrastructure reliability through day-to-day monitoring and maintenance. Manage internal and external IT vendors to maintain service levels and cost efficiency. Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans. Provide onboarding and offboarding functionality across IT systems and security. Work closely with service providers to ensure hardware is fit for purpose and suitable for a global business structure. Cross-Department Collaboration & Efficiency Partner with Department Heads to identify and implement opportunities to drive operational efficiencies through technology. Translate business requirements into IT solutions, managing projects, timelines, and budgets. Ensure applications are fully utilized and understood by teams to maximize functionality. Provide technology guidance and training to staff to ensure adoption of systems and processes. Governance & Security Establish IT policies, standards, and governance frameworks. Manage IT budgets and ensure cost-effective technology investments. With third-party assistance, oversee cybersecurity initiatives, including risk assessments, user governance, IT policies, and incident response. About You The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of IT strategy, business systems, infrastructure management, and technology-driven process improvement. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; MBA or relevant post-grad preferred. 10+ years experience in IT management, business systems, or technology leadership. Proven experience in IT infrastructure, system integrations, and data management. Strong project management and vendor management skills, with experience delivering complex IT projects. Experience in driving efficiencies and business transformation through technology. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
