ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking to fill a key leadership role, as the Assistant Director at our beautiful, purpose-built 120-place Long Day Care Centre in Prospect. The Assistant Director supports the Centre Director in the effective day-to-day management of the service, ensuring high-quality education and care, regulatory compliance and a positive workplace culture. This role is ideal for a confident leader who is passionate about mentoring teams, supporting families and driving continuous improvement. TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES Undertaking tasks to support the Centre operationally and maintain viability Completing compliance duties to ensure that practices are always of high quality Participating in the Quality Improvement Framework, ensuring that you contribute to the QIP by documenting evidence reflecting standards When required, completing rosters and effectively managing staffing arrangements Participating in our Community Engagement Program to build relationships with the local community Contributing to our Communities of Practice Professional Learning Program by reflecting on improvement goals and reporting on progress in exceeding practice Engaging in critical reflective practice and documenting leadership decisions Working collaboratively with your Director and Portfolio Leader, and acting on directives to make service improvements Supporting the planning and implementation of the daily learning programs for children, ensuring that documentation is up to date and reflected on our digital platforms Engaging in daily administrative duties, ensuring that practices, policies and systems are maintained at Reflecting on your performance and participating in probationary processes, including setting SMART goals/strategies and engaging in Appraisals Act as the Responsible Person in the absence of the Director Lead, motivate and mentor educators to foster a positive, professional team culture Support staff performance, wellbeing and professional development Work collaboratively with the Educational Leader to support high-quality pedagogy Model best practice in child-centred, inclusive and reflective teaching Support compliance with the National Quality Framework, regulations and service policies Support preparation for assessment and rating visits Ensure child safety, wellbeing and supervision practices are embedded at all times Build strong, respectful partnerships with families Support enrolments, orientations and ongoing family communication Handle day-to-day queries and concerns in a professional and timely manner Undertake the rostering, staffing ratios and attendance management Assist with centre administration, documentation and reporting Support onboarding and induction of new staff Assist with workplace health and safety practices WHY JOIN OUR PAISLEY PARK FAMILY At Paisley Park, we believe our Educators are our greatest asset. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Completed childcare qualifications such as a Diploma in Childrens Services or an Early Childhood Degree. Graduate Diploma qualified applicants must have at least 3 years of experience working directly with children in an Australian Early Learning Centre. Completed Child Protection, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Senior First Aid and Red Nose training. Understand Child Safe Standards, Curriculum Frameworks and National Quality Standards. Demonstrated leadership characteristics to support a dynamic staffing team effectively. Demonstrated evidence in understanding curriculum frameworks, and the ability to mentor Educator practice. Experience in managing relationships in and outside of the Centre. Be solution-driven, positive and able to work with people from various backgrounds and learning levels. Demonstrate positivity and have excellent social skills. Have excellent spoken and written English capability. Be professionally presented at all times and be willing to abide by our uniform policy. Be reliable and can work independently. Have a current Working with Children Check (not volunteer).
