About Miwatj Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal CommunityControlled Health Service. Established in 1992, were committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolngu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across three East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, seven fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to three additional locations. About the Role Lead a project encompassing a needs assessment of aged care services in the East Arnhem region and the development and implementation of solutions to fill identified gaps. A healthcare professional with aged care and public health experience and expertise would be well suited to this role. We are looking for someone who is a strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills, comfortable contributing to reports and evaluations, and willing and able to travel weekly to remote communities. You also hold a current manual drivers licence, Working with Children Clearance (OCHRE Card), and criminal history check. This role includes travel to the East Arnhem region as required and is a fulltime, fixedterm position until 30 June 2026. Successful applicants will have access to a range of benefits, including: RN4 $128,151 $137,674 per annum AHP5 $111,555 $121,354 per annum HP4 $121,301 $140,092 per annum AO7 $131,507 $136,490 per annum 12% Superannuation Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment Professional development and study leave Study Assistance of up to $1,800 About You You will bring a strong understanding of, and commitment to, Aboriginal Community Control and selfdetermination, with demonstrated insight into the lived experiences and challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings. You will have current knowledge of issues, standards and best practice in the delivery of mental health and social and emotional wellbeing services for Aboriginal communities and hold a current practicing certificate with AHPRA or a relevant regulatory body. Your experience includes working in aged care, with sound knowledge of access, assessment and referral pathways, as well as proven project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives through to completion. What You Will be Doing: Conduct a needs assessment and service mapping of aged care service across East Arnhem Land. Identify and collaborate with current stakeholders and aged care service providers who provide services to Yolngu across the East Arnhem region. Assess barriers to accessing the My Aged Care portal, i.e. package budgets, remote service costs, and ACAT assessor availability. Work with the clinical governance and CQI team to review Communicare templates and processes for aged care service enrolment. Conduct benchmarking and comparison of similar health services and ACCHSs. Investigate alignment of Aged Care services with the Healthy Ageing National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Plan 20212031. In liaison with primary health care staff undertake a CQI approach to increase adult health checks (715) for individuals 5054 and increase the number of over55 checks.
