Valrose is partnering with a Perth-based organisation delivering high-quality, user-focused frontend interfaces across multiple digital projects. We''re looking for a UX Engineer / UI Developer an engineer with strong UI craft to help ensure interfaces are implemented accurately and consistently, aligned with an evolving design system.Sitting within the design function and working closely with delivery teams, you''ll help uplift UI consistency, accessibility, and interaction quality across products.This is for someone who enjoys the intersection of design systems + frontend engineering where the work is about reusable components, interaction details, accessibility, performance, and ensuring design intent holds up from concept to release.What you''ll be responsible forBuilding high-quality UI using modern frontend technologies, including React and TypeScriptConverting design files, components and workflows (e.g., Figma or similar) into pixel-accurate, responsive and accessible frontend codeDeveloping and maintaining reusable UI components within a design system / component library, and identifying opportunities to extend it based on implementation needsChampioning UI quality standards: semantic HTML, maintainable CSS, and intuitive interactionsEnsuring accessibility is built in: WCAG 2.1 Level AA, ARIA, focus management, keyboard interactions, and screen reader semantics.Participating in code reviews, testing and defect resolution to keep UI stable and consistentSupporting multiple teams/projects with UI engineering expertise, documentation, and practical problem-solvingContributing to estimation, technical planning and sprint activities in an agile/iterative environmentWhat you''ll bring to the roleYour experience with modern frontend frameworks (React ideal; Angular/Vue considered) and UI development practicesYour proven ability to implement UI with high fidelity and attention to detailExperience contributing to a design system or component library, collaborating closely with designers and engineersYour knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principlesYour ability to work across multiple initiatives and cross-functional teamsNice-to-havesStorybook, design tokens, CSS-in-JS, automated UI testing (Cypress/Playwright/Jest + React Testing Library), exposure to CI/CD pipelines for frontend assets, and exposure to Tailwind CSS, Next.js, Radix UI, or similar---------------------------------------------------About working with Valrose - We listen.
