Within the Group Environmental Strategy team, the Nature team works closely with Net Zero and Climate Resilience teams to translate complex insights into actionable executive recommendations.We''re seeking a team member to join our Nature team as Manager, Nature Strategy and Analytics. Our ideal candidate will have strong GIS, quantitative analysis and coding skills, with a sustainability background or environmental strategy experience. A strong understanding of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures Framework (TNFD) is preferred.The Role:As part of our Group Environmental Strategy team,you''llsupport the Senior Manager, Nature Strategy to deliver ournature priorities across the bank. Your near-term focus will includeimplementinganature risk & opportunity assessmentaligned to the Group Environmental Strategyand helping toembed TNFD-aligned practices across the business.Your responsibilities:LeadtheGIS and quantitativeanalysisthat will underpindelivery of a nature risk and opportunity assessment,including theevaluation ofnature-relateddatasets and development and implementation of methodologies for risk analysis.Help tomaintainstrong collaborationwithkeystakeholders across theGroupto develop decision-useful metrics andactionableinsights, and support business teams with embedding analysis intointernal processes.Contribute to the development of the Group''s capabilities on nature, by sharing knowledge andexpertiseon key nature-related topics, including those covered by the nature risk and opportunityassessment.Monitor externalnaturerelateddevelopmentsandengage, asappropriate, in external nature-related partnerships and initiatives.Partner with the broader Environmental Strategy team (Net Zero and Climate Resilience) on adjacencies, including data projects.Your skills and experience:Exceptional data analytics skills withdemonstratedexperiencewithGIS (analysing large geospatial datasets using open-source tools preferred) quantitative analysis and coding skills (Pythonpreferred,SQL).A strong background in sustainability or environmental strategyexperienceand familiaritywithglobal and national nature-related frameworks(primarilytheTNFD), policies and initiativespreferred.Ability towork autonomously toextract key business and risk insightsrelated tothe financial and societal implications of nature-related issuesfrom complex data analysis and communicate them clearly and concisely to team leaders.Undergraduate qualifications inGeography, Environmental Management, Economics or other related field and/or relevant Graduate Diploma orMastersQualification.Your Development and Career Progression:At CommBank, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce reflecting the customers,businessesand communities we serve.
