This is a permanent position (full time or part time).About the Solicitor / Senior Solicitor positionThe Solicitor/Senior Solicitorprovideshigh qualityculturally safe and inclusivelegal advice and casework on specialist LGBTIQA+ legal issuesand contributes to law reform,advocacyand community legal education activities of LGBTI Legal Service.The Solicitor/Senior Solicitor reports to the Managing Solicitor, and will work closely with our small team of lawyers, paralegals and support staff.Your skills, knowledge, and experienceWe will be selecting applicants based on their responses to the selection criteria below:Hold or be eligible to hold a Queensland Practising Certificate.Awareness of the legal and social justice issues facing LGBTIQA+ communities and a commitment to equal access to justice.Ability to provide high quality,timely,holisticandappropriate legalinformation, advice, caseworkservicesand representation in one or more of the following practice areas: family, DFV, human rights/discrimination and/or employment law.Knowledge of, or ability to rapidlyacquireknowledge of, referral and information sources relevant to peopleseekinglegal and otherassistance.High levelof interpersonal communication skills including the ability to engage with a range of audiences and stakeholders internal and external with sensitivity.Proven ability to manage time, organise tasks, and work independently and in a team with minimal supervision to complete work and solve problems.Why work for us?The Service continues to grow its reach to LGBTIQA+ communities throughout Queensland.
