Job Description At AFCA, we help build trust and fairness in the financial services sector and we''re looking for a Finance Business Partner who''s passionate about using data-driven insight to influence real organisational change.This is not your traditional reporting role. You''ll partner closely with senior leaders, challenge assumptions, shape performance outcomes, and drive efficiencies across the organisation. Your work will directly support AFCA''s ability to deliver better services for the community. Specifically, the role will include:Planning & PerformanceLead budgeting and forecasting for your designated portfolioStreamline planning processes and ensure highquality budget submissions.Deliver clear monthly reporting with insightful analysis on trends, risks and cost drivers.Present financial insights to senior leaders and support performance improvement initiatives.Stakeholder PartnershipBuild strong relationships with senior leaders, embedding financial thinking into decisionmaking.Influence, challenge and coach stakeholders to drive commercial outcomes.Process, Governance & ImprovementStrengthen financial governance frameworks, policies and practices.Identify and drive process improvements across finance and the wider business.Support the business in risk identification and mitigation.Business Cases & ModellingDeliver scenario modelling and financial inputs for business cases.Review opex, capex and benefits realisation, partnering with project teams during implementation.Month End assistance and other ad hocAssist in month end closing process, including accruals and reallocationAny other ad hoc duties as per directed by line managerPlease note this role is initially a 12-month maternity leave cover role. Qualifications You''re a proactive, commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with leaders to solve problems, uncover insights and shape strategy. You don''t just report numbers, you translate them into meaningful stories and business actions. You thrive in a collaborative environment, build strong relationships easily and love contributing to continuous improvement across people, processes and systems.EssentialCPA/CA qualification with 5+ years'' accounting or finance experience.Proven ability to drive business performance and manage end-to-end P&L outcomes.Ability to influence, coach and lead change across financial initiatives and projects.Strong commercial acumen and advanced analytical capability.Ability to simplify complex financial information for non-financial stakeholders.Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal.Confident working both autonomously and within a collaborative team.Comfortable challenging and engaging with stakeholders at all organisational levels.DesirableExperience within the financial services sector or dispute resolution environment.Track record delivering finance transformation initiatives in dynamic, fast-paced organisations.
