The course is designed to support Aboriginal communities and individuals to gain or grow skills in Aboriginal cultural heritage management so that they can meet their legislative obligations under the Aboriginal Heritage Act 2006 and participate effectively in industry. The La Trobe RTO team works with FPSR to offer funded positions to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have completed ''Past and Present Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Management Workshops'' run by FPSR. The course is delivered annually, over 9 weeks of 5-day, residential training blocks; funded accommodation and meals, and pastoral care are a significant feature of delivery. A minimum of three weeks training may be held at the La Trobe Bundoora campus with the remainder being run across regional Victoria at a range of venues.The position will report to the Archaeology Discipline Lead Academic within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
