OverviewCharles Sturt University Melbourne is seeking qualified and dedicated Business and/or Accounting Subject Coordinators to contribute to the academic excellence and growth of our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. You will play a vital role in inspiring and educating the next generation of Business and/or Accounting professionals. The key objective of these positions is to deliver high-quality teaching and support to our students, fostering their development in Business and/or Accounting. CSU Melbourne is committed to creating an inclusive and culturally safe learning environment for all students, including First Nations students.Key responsibilitiesTeaching: Create an inclusive and diverse classroom environment where all students feel welcome and supported. Engage students through student-centred teaching and learning approaches using presentations, group activities, tutorials, and assessments in Business and/or Accounting-related subjects. Reflect on teaching and learning practice and utilise student and peer feedback to improve teaching practice.Student Support: Provide guidance, mentorship, and academic support to students, ensuring their success in the course. Accurately evaluate student work, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records. Maintain and manage up-to-date student study plans and monitor progress to ensure subject offerings align with student needs. Undertake marking and assessment in subjects being taught. Provide students with advice on study skills.Scholarship: Conduct scholarly activities to maintain and develop a professional profile aligned with the CSU Scholarly Activity Framework. Incorporate scholarly knowledge and practice into your teaching and learning practice. Share scholarly knowledge and practice with colleagues within Business and/or Accounting and other disciplines.Resource Management and Professional development: Manage teaching staff and ensure subject offerings meet CSU Navitas requirements. Participate in formal professional development activities designed to enhance teaching practice. Maintain a commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning. Stay updated on the latest Business and/or Accounting trends and technologies.QualificationsA PhD degree in Business and/or AccountingPrevious teaching experience, preferably at the university levelExperienceDemonstrated experience in Business and/or Accounting, including industry experience.Proven ability to teach and assess students effectively.Experience working in diverse and inclusive environments.KnowledgeComprehensive understanding of Business and/or Accounting concepts, principles, and emerging technologiesAwareness of best practices in creating inclusive learning environments.AbilitiesStrong communication and presentation skillsGood interpersonal and written communication skillsEffective classroom management and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environmentA proven track record of collaborating with colleagues, students, and administrators to create an inclusive and supportive educational communityAn understanding and commitment to promoting diversity and equity in educationThe ability to adapt teaching methods to meet and support the diverse needs of studentsDesirable criteriaMembership in an appropriate professional associationA track record of scholarship and/or advanced professional practiceFamiliarity with curriculum development and teaching methodsAdditional InformationWhy you should join us: Joining the Charles Sturt University Melbourne team means you will shape the student campus experience and help foster a dynamic and supportive culture for staff from the start.
