The Cleaner in Charge is responsible for opening/closing the school, carrying out internal cleaning duties (including maintenance of carpets and hard floor surfaces, toilet cleaning, furniture and fittings, window cleaning, dusting, rubbish removal, and other general cleaning duties) and external cleaning duties (including cleaning verandas and covered areas, rubbish removal, cleaning of drinking troughs, window cleaning, removal of cobwebs, general cleaning, and vacation cleaning duties such as stripping/sealing vinyl floors, window cleaning, carpet shampooing, and pressure cleaning of verandas and undercover areas).The successful applicant will ideally have experience in supervising staff, working alongside school staff and managing staff performance in consultation with School Management. The Cleaner in Charge will liaise with Management on all cleaning matters, record and respond to issues, maintain the cleaners time book, arrange relief staff, and be responsible for monitoring and ordering stock supplies and stocktake of cleaning resources.
