The Role We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Officer on a 6-month contract basis (Feb - July 2026) to join our Residential Aged Care facility in Greystanes. This role is responsible for the ongoing upkeep and presentation of buildings, grounds, plant, equipment, and land-based assets, helping to create a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Carry out general maintenance and basic repairs, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and minor building works. Perform grounds and gardening maintenance, such as sweeping, hosing, lawn mowing, hedging, and keeping external areas clean and well-presented. Undertake and oversee planned preventative maintenance in line with site-specific Preventative Maintenance Schedules. Respond to and manage reactive maintenance requests across the designated area of responsibility. Monitor and action all maintenance works to ensure regulatory and compliance standards are met. Actively comply with and contribute to Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and procedures. Requirements Current driver''s license. Computer skills. Ability to work under minimum supervision. Experience as a Maintenance Person in Retirement Living (preferred). Previous experience in either building, fitter and turner, welder or plumber (desirable). Trade qualification (desirable).
