Reporting to the Coordinator of Revenue, the Finance Officer (Rates) will support the effective administration and management of the organisations rating and property database. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate billing, compliance with statutory obligations, and the timely collection of rates and charges.Maintain and update the property database, including ownership changes, valuations, land use, and service charges.Process rate transactions, including annual and interim rates, direct debits, interest, and associated charges.Assist with the management and enforcement of outstanding rates, pensioner rebates, and non-rateable property registers.Provide accurate advice and assistance to ratepayers and internal stakeholders on rating and property-related matters.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.The CandidateYou will be a highly organised and detail-oriented finance professional with sound knowledge of rating processes and relevant legislation within a local government environment.
