Electrify your future.About the roleAGL''s HSE Power Development, Energy Hubs and Construction team are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor.Based in NSW (Newcastle/Sydney), Melbourne or Brisbane, you will provide strong H&S leadership across contractorheavy projects. You''ll work closely with project, commercial, procurement and legal teams to create, review and amend contracts so health and safety requirements are clear, riskbased and aligned to WHS legislation.In this role, you''ll act as a trusted client-side safety specialist, coaching others on their responsibilities and ensuring effective HS oversight of works. You''ll also travel to sites to conduct assurance activities, verify critical controls, engage with contractors, and monitor performance against contractual and HSMS requirements.This is an opportunity to shape and contribute to outstanding safety outcomes on projects that matter, in a supportive and growing team.What you''ll be doing: Developing and improving health and safety performance across different sites and assets, while collaborating across business unitsDevelop, review and improve H&S clauses and schedules across multiple contracting models (PC, EPC, D&C).Overseeing contractor health and safety through comprehensive reviews and advising on contract requirements, tender evaluations and implementation of contractor assurance programsProviding technical health and safety input to major projects from concept to handover, including risk assessments, design support and ensuring compliance with project management frameworksCreating assurance activities and reviewing incident investigations to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirementsChampion the HS reporting platform, enabling teams to use it confidently and consistently, and leverage the data to identify trends, verify critical control performance, and inform leadership decisionmaking.What you''ll bring: Tertiary qualification in Health and Safety, or related discipline (diploma or above)Experience on client-side health and safety contractor management (preferred)Demonstrated experience developing or reviewing H&S requirements in contracts across diverse contracting models.Ability and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.Demonstrated experience in auditing, governance, assurance activities and incident investigationAbility to translate complex safety requirements into practical solutions, with a client-focused mindsetExcellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence outcomes across diverse teamsApplications close 18 February.
